Had a most enjoyable stay in this hotel - what a lovely setting. Very relaxed and staff were more than helpful. The food was excellent both for dinner in dining room and breakfast.Lovely walks surrounding the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning.
Waiting to be seated for breakfast - staff only used half the number of tables available which meant we had to wait for somebody to leave to allow get a table.
Its Lakeside location, its proximity to Killarney town and its central location for touring the scenic areas of Kerry
The layout requiring a lot of walking to get from bedrooms to communal and recreational areas of the hotel
Being able to walk to the National Park.
Found the hotel dated - would definately require a refurb.
We were in ireland for a wedding, so we only stayed for one night and therefor did not really have time for anything else
It was very pleasant and the staff accommodating
view, quiet area, relax, nice big rooms
prices, old carpets, nobody to take your laguagge
Breakfast was good after that not much
Rooms were poor. Dinner was charged at full 4 course rate even though we only had two courses and wedding on at the time was an experience.
Rooms are extremely far from reception, no porter, no room service except for breakfast and it is only continental (not a great choice either). Charged me for two room service breakfasts, I only had one, didn't believe when I said that even though on check in I let the, know I was alone (had originally booked for two people). Did not offer me any compensation for traveling alone, I suggested a smaller single room.....I understand the reservation was made but as the hotel was not fully booked I felt allowances could and should have been made.
The scenery is about the best asset of the hotel. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms basic but clean.
Extremely quiet in the bar area at night.Nothing to keep us there. Thank God for pubs with a bit of life in Killarney itself.
I liked the fact that we could play golf right at the property.
We [2 couples] asked if they had a trolly to bring in our luggage. We planned to do it ourselves. They sent an older gentleman with a very unpleasant attitude. He was probably much too old to be handling and lifting luggage and he was not an asset for the hotel. He accused me of being 'impatient' when I merely told him that the red suitcase goes to the other room. Other than this unpleasant experience we enjoyed our stay.
Hotel was lovely & entertainment was very good in the bar, views of the lake were outstanding. Lovely walkway into killarney.
Rooms very far away from the foyer. There was a baby crying in the room next door & woke us very early. ~Bed covers & curtains were very drab
i think the food was excellent, also the sceenery,it is ideal for a quiet time away.the fact that you have access to the national park is perfect.nice bar ,good drink.
the bathroom in the room could do with grade.
the view, the staff at the swimming pool, the playground, the general friendliness of the staff.the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed in general.value for money.
horrified by the use of blankets on beds, which no matter how thoroughly cleaned will always contain "material" from numerous previous guests.dissapointed that there is no way to walk around +enjoy the grounds, without having to turn back, especially given the setting. Disliked the pungent odour of chlorine emanating from pool all along corridors to the bedrooms. Also the sandpit near the playground was full of dog excrement + could easily be covered,I had to rescue my 2 year old from making a "sand pie".. otherwise a pleasant stay.
the friendly good mood in the bar; the fast internet in the bar/lobby
lack of internet in rooms; you have to like vociferous children of all ages at all times (including till late); a room in the 260ies is a choice to be calm (which we appreciated)
Peaceful location. Stunning scenery.Quite setting.
Quality of bar food and breakfast.
nice friendly staff, great location, views, walks, etc. excellent value in bar for food and drink
the bed covers were horrible and old. i slept with no sheets on me
